Welcome to the inaugural Time for Our Power! "Women Bringing Change to the World" Conference, which will be held in Asheville, North Carolina, a small but vibrant city located in the heart of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.
The purpose of this 3-day event is to provide a forum for women of all ages, and ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds to gather, learn, grow and become inspired to personally and collectively bring powerful, positive and much needed change to their own lives and to the world.
Our keynote speaker is Academy-award-winning actress, activist and American icon Jane Fonda.
Time for Our Power! will feature speakers, panelists and workshop leaders from a wide variety of fields: environmental, political, international affairs, business, medical, spiritual, personal growth and the arts.
The conference is unusual however in that events won't be held at one location but at different venues around downtown such as the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, the Haywood Park Hotel and Jubilee! Community Church. This will give attendees a chance to stretch their legs as well as enjoy this lively city.
Men are most definitely welcome to attend the conference and their support is always appreciated! In fact, for those of you who are slightly confused by the emerging empowered woman, we are offering a special workshop: "How to Live With a Goddess," taught by two men who wouldn't have it any other way.
One of the important issues we'll be addressing at the conference is the deteriorating health of our enviroment. So that we 'walk our talk' we plan on making the conference as green as possible.
Conference attendees will also get to experience an evening of great entertainment on Saturday, featuring an eclectic mix of music, burlesque, poetry, African drumming and more.
The conference will feature other great stuff as well, including the Red Tent: a construction of beautiful fabrics, carpets, pillows and more, Middle-Eastern in feeling - providing a peaceful place where women can go to recharge. meditate or commune quietly at any time during the conference.
